Thai Massage at The OM Center
Thai massage is an ancient form of body work that has begun to gain popularity here in the west. Practiced traditionally, full clothed on a Thai Mat, this practice gives the practitioner the ability to move their client’s body in a way that would not work on a table. A complete Thai massage incorporates a traditional combination of acupressure, energy meridian work, and yoga-like stretching for an overall balancing experience.
Do I need to do yoga or be in shape to get this form of massage? No. Anyone can benefit from a Thai Massage and your therapist can create an experience that is best for your body.
Is this practice good for athletes? Yes. This is a particularly useful practice for athletes or those with intense training.
Is it relaxing? Most clients report a heightened relaxed state during and upon completion of their massage. This form of massage is meditative for both practitioner and client giving the practitioner the space to settle in and allow the clients body to heal on its own.
What do I wear? Wear comfortable, modest clothing that you can move in easily.
How much hands on time is there? For a 60 Minute massage there is approximately 50-55 minutes of hands on time with time for your therapist to get you set up and time to speak briefly after your session.
