A New Way to Look at 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

I have spoken to so many students who are looking to deepen their practice through a yoga teacher training program, but they just can’t commit to a weekend schedule and they have families, careers, travel schedules, rotating schedules, or commitments that make them unable to nail down a schedule that will work for them. The last thing anyone wants is to make a personal growth program like yoga teacher training a stressful one, but that is often times what happens.

We have racked our brains trying to come up with a way to help these students. Most aren’t even looking to teach yoga, but truly looking for the life changing work that comes along with the program itself. We offer training abroad that are helpful to some students who can take 3 weeks to do the program in one shot, but what about those who want to stay local.

Our solution: a flexible 200 hour yoga teacher training program here in our Watertown, CT studio. The program begins in April 2016 and runs through April 2017.

BUT HOW DOES IT WORK?

Students must be able to commit to the first class, April 3rd from 8am-2:00pm. From there, each month, students and teachers will sit and discuss a schedule for the following month that will include 3, 5-6 hour sessions. The program runs for a year, and is the perfect way for working adults to commit to a program without really committing to dates in advance. Classes may be on weekends, weekdays, mornings, or evenings based on the need of the group. We keep all training groups small and only allow a maximum of 12 students in the group.

You must have some level of flexibility to schedule times, but they may look very different each month- so people with travel schedules, rotating schedules, or those who work in the service industry can get the time in that they need to participate.
